Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using WordStar Converter ("the Software"), published by Green 18 Enterprises, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.

2. Description of Software / License Grant

WordStar Converter is a Windows desktop application for converting WordStar documents (.ws, .wsd, .ws3–.ws8) to formats such as Word (DOCX), PDF, RTF, ODT, HTML, Markdown, and plain text. Conversion runs locally on your computer; the Software is not a cloud conversion service, CLI package, developer portal, or remote HTTP convert API.

Upon purchase of a valid license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Install and use the Software on one (1) computer per license seat
• Use a personal license for personal use, or a commercial license for business use, as indicated at checkout
• Receive updates to version 6.x of the Software (lifetime access to the 6.x line; current release 6.1.1)

3. Trial Version

The free trial version of WordStar Converter provides full functionality for a limited evaluation of up to 10 file conversions. The trial is limited by conversion count, not by a published time clock on this site. After the trial limit, you must purchase a license to continue using the Software.

4. Conversion Library Plus

Conversion Library Plus is an optional add-on that unlocks local search, tags, and document previews of files you converted. Plus requires a matching Standard license (personal or commercial) on the same computer. Plus features run locally on that computer; they do not upload your converted library for search or preview.

5. Licensing / Seats

Each Standard license authorizes installation and use on one computer. Personal and commercial seats are sold as indicated at checkout and in the application. Volume licensing may be handled separately by agreement with Green 18 Enterprises.

A Plus license unlocks Conversion Library Plus only on a computer that already has a matching Standard license. You may not share a single seat across multiple computers at the same time.

6. Ownership / Intellectual Property

The Software and all copies thereof are proprietary to Green 18 Enterprises / WordStar Converter, and title remains with us. All rights in the Software not specifically granted in this agreement are reserved. The Software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your source documents and conversion outputs; this agreement does not transfer any rights in your files to us.

7. Payment and Refunds

Payment: All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are in USD and are subject to change without notice. Current one-time offerings include Standard personal ($39.95), Conversion Library Plus personal add-on ($29.95), Standard + Plus personal bundle ($69.90), Standard commercial ($500), and commercial Plus options (including Commercial Plus at $750, equal to the commercial Standard license plus Conversion Library Plus) shown at checkout and on the Conversion Library page.

Refund Policy: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the Software for any reason, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. After 30 days, refunds are provided at our discretion.

8. Restrictions

You may NOT:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the Software
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
• Rent, lease, or lend the Software to third parties
• Use a single license on multiple computers simultaneously
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the Software for any unlawful purpose

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED. You are responsible for reviewing conversion outputs before relying on them for business, compliance, or legal decisions.

10. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE.

11. User Responsibilities

You may use the Software only to convert files you are authorized to process. You are solely responsible for the content of your files, for maintaining appropriate backups, and for reviewing outputs before relying on them.

WordStar Converter processes conversions locally on your computer. We do not have access to your WordStar documents during conversion, and those files are not uploaded to our servers for conversion.

12. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must destroy all copies of the Software in your possession.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Software after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
